Kreklewich dominates at Deer Valley, four qualify for MJT Mini Tour National Championship

The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, Canada’s number one-played junior tour, descended on Deer Valley Golf and Estates in Deer Valley, SK, this past weekend, with 114 juniors competing in either the two-day Junior Tour (19U) event on June 24 and 25, or the one-day Mini Tour (12U) event on June 24.  Results of the Mini Tour are highlighted here.

In the MJT Mini Tour event, players competed in six age divisions over 18 holes on June 24, and on top of great trophies and prizes, each division winner or highest ranked non-exempt player qualified for the MJT Mini Tour National Championship in British Columbia, this August. Keaton Kreklewich, 11, of Melville, SK, fired a fantastic round of 64 to win the MJT Boys 11-12 title and low overall score. Top results with quotes from each division winner are noted below, and Closest to the Pin winners are posted on the MJT website here.

Great support from the PGA of Saskatchewan came in the form of $100 gift certificates for golf lessons, randomly awarded to Kenzi Bourassa (Saskatoon) and Payton Folliott (Moose Jaw).

The next stop in the province is the MJT Mini Tour at Wildwood Golf Club in Saskatoon, SK, on July 23, 2023 – register here.  More information on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, including the entire 2023 schedule, can be found online at www.maplejt.com
