Short-listed Qualifying Positions - Junior Tour (11-18) and Mini Tour (10 & Under)
Events listed as the IMG Junior Worlds Qualifier (including MJT Mini Tour) will shortlist players in the following age divisions for both Girls and Boys: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 for the IMG Academy Junior Worlds Golf Championship in San Diego, California from 6 national events. The finalists will be chosen according to lowest differential between total score and total course rating.
NOTE: All players that compete in the MJT IMG Qualifiers are short-listed, not just the name mentioned in the Press Release. They are just the top rated players from that event but all who participate can earn the IMG exemption.
Playing Standard: All players, regardless of qualifying on the MJT, must meet the playing standards as set out by the IMG for our qualifiers to be exempt.
Age and Birthday Qualifying Information
The MJT will qualify short-list positions for the IMG Junior World Golf Championship in the above-mentioned age divisions, however our players will compete for these spots in their correct MJT age divisions (as of August 31). If their respective qualifying spot is in a younger division, those affected will have their score adjusted by the rating differential to determine the qualified player.
For example, if a player is 13 years old and in the Bantam Division (based on MJT's static age of August 31st) but they are 12 based on FCG's age date of July 18, so competing for a 11-12 year old spot (Peewee division), the player’s score in the Bantam division will be adjusted by the differential between score and course rating to determine their qualifying score against those in the Peewee division.
Personal Information
If you choose to play in this qualifier, you give the MJT permission to provide your contact information to the IMG Junior Worlds Committee as part of our agreement for securing spots. If you have no intention of trying to qualify, please contact the MJT Head Office before the event and we will make sure your information is not shared.
The MJT will qualify the following number of players for the IMG Junior World Championship from qualifiers from across Canada:
Division | Boys Spots | Girls Spot |
Boys and Girls age 7-8 | 2 | 2 |
Boys and Girls aged 9-10 | 2 | 2 |
