Just wanted to reach out and say thanks for your guidance and support in helping up navigate the US golf schools. Aiden has accepted a scholarship with North Carolina Wesleyan College which is a D3 school.  As you thought, after reaching out to approximately 50 schools he had about 10 offers from D2 and/or D3 programs.  Each has it’s pros and cons and it took sometime to work through, but finally we landed on a option that suites Aiden from a academic, economic and golf program perspective.   Best thing you said was to “enjoy the process”, which we took to heart and did- great tip!

MITCHELL THIESSEN
MITCHELL THIESSEN

Rocky Mountain College, Golf/Acad Schol.

Well, it’s official, Mitchell is now a college student and a member of the golf team at Rocky Mountain College (NAIA) in Billings Montana, receiving an academic and golf scholarship.  MJT has been a part of Mitchell’s golf journey for many many years.  It was about 8 years ago when MJT came to Chilliwack Golf Club with their Ford Go Junior Clinic, that was the first time we met Neil and were introduced to MJT.  Since then Mitchell has participated in as many events as he could throughout the years, including attending the National Championships in Phoenix and Florida. Mitchell was fortunate to be awarded the BC Order of Merit as well as most recently being one of the recipients of the MJT Cleveland Golf / Srixon Canada Scholarship.  MJT is an amazing golf tour, their events are very well run, and the people associated with MJT are great!  I still won’t forget Neil trying to do a video shoot with Mitchell for BP after he won his first MJT tourney, there was more laughing than actually good video happening.  MJT was there when Mitchell started out in golf and has been a huge factor in Mitchell receiving a golf scholarship and playing golf at the collegiate level.  We think it is great that you have added a collegiate level and Mitchell hopes to play in a few tournaments next year when he is home for the summer.  We met a lot of great kids and families through MJT and look forward to reading about their success in the future with MJT.  Thank you again, Dwayne, Kelly & Mitchell Thiessen

BERKELEY MEPPEM
BERKELEY MEPPEM

Doane University, Nebraska NAIA

Thank you MJT and RY2C - Berk recently committed to Doane University in Nebraska for the upcoming Fall semester.

We had approximately 60 schools express interest in Berkeley attending their school as a result of the easy to use RY2C program.  Before we ventured down the RY2C road I’d heard of probably 30 US schools.  UCLA, Duke, UNC, Michigan, Stanford, basically the same schools we could all name.  There’s no way we’d have ever come across Doane in Crete, Nebraska by ourselves.  I honestly don’t know how a parent would even begin to look for a school without RY2C.  Hats off to you Jenn!

We had interest from a lot of NAIA schools, as well from NCAA Div 2 and Div 3.  Doane is a NAIA school that we felt was the best fit for Berk. It was his #1 pick of the offers received and we went down to visit in late January.  That closed the deal for all parties concerned.

Without Berkeley’s involvement in the MJT program and the continued support of Trent and his staff this opportunity would never have presented itself and Berk may have missed the opportunity of a lifetime.

I can’t say enough good things MJT and RY2C,  thank you so much!

He will be going there in August, 2016 then returning with the Vulcan team to kick off their season with back-to-back tournaments in Olympia and Bellingham. We are all happy that his hard work & dedication to the game has resulted in this opportunity. Besides golf, he will also be working on obtaining his Bachelor's degree, with the goal of eventually getting into Law School. We must however thank everyone at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour who has contributed so much and given Taylor the opportunity to develop as a tournament player over the years. We chose the MJT not only because of the events but also because of its PGA affiliations and the professional manner with which the whole organization is run. Share our pride at this time and give yourselves a pat on the back because another Maple Leaf Junior Golfer is succeeding in Golf and in Life.

Thank-you & Regards, JP

The overall experience is very smooth with few hiccups. The whole process is laid out in a very straight forward easy to use system that goes into great detail to clearly focus the strengths of each person. Being able to work with yourself and Jennifer made sure that nothing went unsaid. It's fantastic being able to have the database of almost every school in the USA and being able to send it out to whomever you decide.  All of the coaches are quick to respond and very onboard to find the best school that fits your own needs even if it isn't their school in the end. They're all just so supportive of everyone which is awesome to see.

Thanks again for all the work you've done running the tour and what you've done for me individually.

Good luck in Jasper this week.

"Without the MJT and the RY2C, I probably would not be a member of the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits this year. First of all, the opportunity to play in great tournaments, which featured quality competition, was a great experience for me.  I learned a lot about myself and was able to develop my golf game in the many tournaments in which I had the  opportunity to play.  Besides the competition aspect, the organizers of the tournaments cared about how I performed as a player and as a person.  In regards to RY2C, it was a great chance to get my name out there and see if what opportunities were available to me at the college level.  I tried to contact coaches in various ways, but when I filled out the RY2C information and it was sent off the golf coaches, that is when I saw a lot of progress and was able to communicate more directly with coaches.  I am fortunate to have been involved with the MJT and am grateful for the doors it helped open for me."

"Growing up playing on the MJT tour I was able to compete against top level junior golfers from across the country. Through the years I saw several other MJT players sign at NCAA schools. I decided to remain in Canada and compete at Lethbridge College while completing a 2 year degree. Having a few years of NCAA eligibility remaining after finishing at Lethbridge College, I was introduced to Recruit Yourself to College. The program was very simple to understand, and was well worth the investment. I am very thankful for the opportunities that have come from using the Recruit Yourself to College program and playing my junior golf through the MJT. I would highly recommend using Recruit Yourself to College for any junior golfers who dream of playing collegiate golf in the U.S"

Recruit yourself to college helped make my dream of playing college golf a reality. I'm so glad that I have had the chance to meet the people I've meet, seen the things I have seen, and been able to compete the whole time. RY2C has allowed me to have the experience of a lifetime.

I played on the MJT from approximately age 12 to 18.  After the MJT I played golf at Simon Fraser University for 3.5 years where I was the captain for 1.5 years.  At SFU, I went on to do a joint honours in Finance and Economics. Completed my CPA at BDO Canada and now am out of the accounting game.  I currently co-own and operate 2 Building Maintenance (KP Cleaning and Precise Building Maintenance) companies with focus on servicing Residential Strata buildings across the Lower Mainland. Thank you guys for doing this...so cool!

Read these outstanding testimonials about the service:

"Thank you MJT and RY2C - Berk recently committed to Doane University in Nebraska for the upcoming Fall semester.

I can’t say enough good things MJT and RY2C,  thank you so much!"

My son was entering grade 12, having recently decided he'd like to pursue college golf. Up to that point, we'd put no energy in this direction, so the prospect was daunting to say the least. What a blessing to be introduced to RY2C through the MJT! Although I was a bit skeptical at first, it really helped us expedite an otherwise complex and time-consuming process, to get my son's resume and video in front of prospective coaches very quickly. He's received lots of positive response so far, and will be meeting with select colleges before and after the MJT Nationals in Arizona next week. I can't say enough good things about it. Highly recommended.” Shelley Phelan – Vancouver, BC

RecruitYourself2College was an integral part of our son, Trevor, accepting a scholarship to play golf at Indiana University.  Jennifer Hause and RY2C put together a very professional resume and cover letter highlighting his golf and academic achievements.  They also provided us with a database of all the NCAA Division 1 schools with their addresses, entry requirements and golf contacts.  This saved us countless hours!  We sent his info to approximately 85 schools, hearing back from about 45.  Eventually we continued contact with 25 schools and then narrowed it down to 7 that he visited before choosing Indiana.  Many coaches commented on what an excellent resume he submitted.  We would highly recommend RY2C’s services to anyone wishing to pursue a golf scholarship in the U.S.” ...Doug and Sandra Ranton – Waterloo, Ontario

"RY2C is the reason I got a scholarship to play collegiate golf in the states. It’s easy to use template with simple steps allowed me to put together a resume that showcased my golfing abilities in very little time. I started the process late so time was an extremely important factor for me. RY2C is really customizable and easy to use. Once you have your profile created, you can send it to hundreds of Div I, II, III or NAIA coaches with the click of a button, and the program allows you to customize the start to each message so that it is personalized to each coach. This eliminates the problem of coach’s receiving hundreds of identical emails, and gives a strong first impression. I don’ think I would be playing collegiate golf in the states without the help of RY2C."...  Justin Wood - Unity, SK

Good morning Trent; Unfortunately, Keenan can't play the Spring Invitational because he will still be Stateside at school - he finishes May 5th and then has Super Regionals. I can say however that he is loving Maryville U. which of course came through MJT's Recruit Yourself Program. His golf is great right now - he's had good results and has been on the travelling team for every tournament.  Again, thanks to yourself and everyone at MJT.  Jamie Flemming -  Sechelt, BC

AND THIS IS A LONG ONE BUT WORTH THE READ!....

RY2C (recruit yourself to college) is a great website engineered to make the recruiting process for athletes painless and more efficient. I am a Canadian golfer who was seeking to play college golf in the United States. I did not have a very impressive resume due to the lack of competition and the ignorance I had as far as college golf goes. It was not until I was 16 before I realized that there was such thing as competitive golf and unfortunately I did not have very much time to build the ideal competitive record that some college golf coaches are looking for. I discovered the MJT (Maple Leaf Junior Tour) when I was 16. This was a tour that was designed to give kids all across Canada the chance to play competitive golf and potentially play college golf.  It was through this tour that I realized I could play, and that I wanted to play college golf.

When I was 18 I tried to do most of the research myself and selecting schools that I wanted to go to that fit with my intended program of study. I built my own resume and cover letter that I would send to these coaches. Coaches are very particular about the resumes that they receive. Needless to say I wasn’t getting the feedback that I wanted from these coaches. I had spent a total of about 45 hours researching schools and programs and building my resume that I sent to over 40 coaches, to get all of 5 replies. Like I said, most coaches had already recruited their team members for the next year.

I spoke with Trent Matson, the National Tournament Operations Manager of the MJT, about my struggles with the recruiting process. He introduced me to this website which has gotten me to where I am now. This website is a program that builds each applicant a unique resume that is in the proper format for a coach to look at. It takes a little bit of time to fill out the information but it was only a fraction of the time that it took me to do it on my own. The website will give you a list of schools that not only match your intended area of study, but also teams that, based on your scoring average, would place you In the top 5 players. Based on this you can select which schools to send your resume too. The website will then send a personalized cover letter to the coaches of the schools that you select automatically. There is a decent price to the application for the website but it is much cheaper than applications to all of the schools that you are looking for.

As soon as I submitted my information and sent it off to coaches, I had replies within a week. I am currently at Maryville College, in Tennessee, playing Division 3 golf, at a great Liberal Arts College, that has an unbelievable academic reputation. I was fortunate to find a school that fit my ideal size and location. I never thought that I would be coming this far south after my failures with my own efforts during the recruiting process. RY2C is one hundred percent responsible for getting me to this great college where I can enjoy playing college golf and receive a great education.” Doug Whitten -  Medicine Hat, Alberta
