Needs-Based Funding
At the MJT we want to help every child have the opportunity to participate! Whenever resources permit, we offer needs-based funding to our members. Download and complete the application for MJT funding (.pdf). Funding can be put towards tournament fees on the MJT.
The Herrendorf Family Foundation (HFF) is committing $100,000 towards developing champions in golf and in life on Canada’s number-one played Junior Golf Tour.
This generous donation will be provided in four increments of $25,000 over a four-year period (2023-2026) and allocated in the form of scholarships and financial assistance for athletes in need as follows:
- $5,000 in 2023 HFF Scholarships for 5 members: check out the criteria on the MJT Scholarships page and then apply here
- $10,000 to help cover the expenses of participation in the MJT National Championship presented by TaylorMade & adidas Golf at The Wigwam Resort in Phoenix, AZ, November 9-12, 2023 for 5 members who have qualified for the event yet are in financial need: apply here
- $10,000 in HFF Playing Scholarships for 5 members in financial need, ensuring they have a paid place to compete without the barriers of membership and entry fee costs. This support, equating to $2,000 per member, will be applied to their MJT account and is subject to renewal each season, as it is intended to follow these “HFF Playing Scholars” throughout their MJT journey and continue with support of their post-secondary endeavours with scholarship funds: apply here

Member Fundraising
To assist members of the Maple Leaf Junior Tour in the costs of participation in tournaments, we are pleased to provide suggestions and tools for fundraising by members.
Note: Not all fundraising is approved by Golf Canada and may affect your Amateur Status and NCAA Eligibility. The MJT suggests that you send a letter to Golf Canada (Amateur Status) for an approval letter before you spend or use any funds generated.

Ideas for how to raise funds:
a) APPROACH LOCAL BUSINESSES OR SERVICE CLUBS FOR SPONSORSHIP
Players could raise money for participation in local, national and international events by approaching local businesses for sponsorship through a campaign which involves visiting businesses to deliver a request letter and following up with a phone call.
b) APPROACH FAMILY, FRIENDS & NEIGHBORS FOR PLEDGES
This is usually a great base of contacts to approach for support. Offering assistance to do some work in exchange could be a great bartering tool.
c) FUNDRAISER OF YOUR OWN INITIATIVE
Get creative and design a fundraising program of your own! From the traditional car wash and recycling fundraisers to something more golf-oriented like a "Closest to the Pin" competition at your local course where players contribute money for a chance to win a donated prize package you organize from local businesses, there are unlimited ways to off-set your expenses and increase the number of events that you compete in!
*PLEASE NOTE – ALL FUNDS SHOULD BE APPROVED BY GOLF CANADA OR YOUR NCAA COACH PRIOR TO USING THE FUNDS GENERATED. THE MJT DOES NOT APPROVE ANY FUNDING THAT YOU MAY GENERATE, NOR DO WE ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR MISUSED FUNDS.
