A hole-in-one and high level qualifying highlighted results from the full field of 100 young golfers participating in the popular Maui Jim Series on the non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour this past weekend, at Grey Silo Golf Club in Waterloo, Ontario. Players were competing for titles in six divisions, awarded with fantastic prizes of Maui Jim sunglasses, plus the chance to be short-listed for the MJT National Team Challenge presented by Canada Life at Royal Niagara Golf Club in Niagara, ON, this September.

Fraser Allen, 14, of Elmira, ON, hit the shot of the weekend on the eighth hole at Grey Silo, making his first career hole-in-one with a six iron that ‘took a good bounce’ for the first ace on the MJT Ontario schedule this year.  Other top finisher scores and quotes from division winners are noted below, with Low Overall honours for Boys and Girls respectively going to Ben De Castro, 17, of Toronto, ON, and Nobelle Park, 13, of Oakville, ON. Both elite players are now shortlisted for the MJT National Team Challenge with the final team to be announced once qualifying completes across the country. Results from the TaylorMade Long Drive, PLYR Closest to the Pin, Booster Juice BounceBack Awards and Academy Points can be found here.
