Canada’s leading junior tour adds Dubai and Spain to international opportunities

Vancouver, BC — [May 7, 2025] — Canada’s number one-played junior golf tour, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), is excited to announce two outstanding additions to its growing list of international qualifying opportunities for elite Canadian juniors. MJT players will now have the chance to qualify for the prestigious 2026 Junior Dubai Desert Classic in Dubai, UAE, and the 2025 Sergio Garcia Junior Championship in Borriol, Spain, both first-class experiences for aspiring young golfers.
As the leader in junior golf development across Canada, MJT continues to expand international pathways for top-performing athletes, offering high-performance players the opportunity to compete on the global stage. With by far the largest competitive field sizes and 27 years of junior golf excellence, MJT continues to set the standard for junior competition and exposure.
2026 Junior Dubai Desert Classic Qualifiers (January 8–11, 2026 | Emirates Golf Club, Dubai)
Now recognized with World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR®) status and featuring an elevated 54-hole format, the Junior Dubai Desert Classic offers an unmatched, professional-style experience for junior players from around the world.
Players will take on the Faldo Course in a unique two-round challenge — one under the lights on Friday night and one under the sun on Saturday — before the cut leads to a high-stakes final round on the iconic Majlis Course, home to the DP World Tour’s Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

2025 Sergio Garcia Junior Championship Qualifiers (October 3–5, 2025 | Mediterráneo Golf Club, Spain)
Hosted at Mediterráneo Golf Club, home course of major champion Sergio Garcia in Borriol, Castellón, Spain, this international event brings together top junior golfers from around the world for a highly competitive, professionally run experience. With World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR®) recognition, the Sergio Garcia Junior Championship offers an incredible opportunity for young athletes to compete on a global stage, gain international exposure, and test their skills against elite peers in a world-class environment.
The MJT has received sanction from Hector Del Castillo, key coordinator for the international players, to qualify four players (two boys and two girls aged 15–18) from the following shortlist of designated qualifiers across the country:
