Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour announces MJT Team Canada for Australia’s Jack Newton International Junior Classic

 
Vancouver, BC – (September 6, 2024) – The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada's leading junior golf tour, is proud to announce the talented players selected to represent Canada at the esteemed 2024 Jack Newton International Junior Classic in Australia. This marks the 13th appearance of MJT Team Canada at this elite event, which attracts top junior golfers worldwide.
 
After qualifying on the MJT this season, the selected players for MJT Team Canada to Australia are Braden Ahern (Riverview, NB), Carter Banton (Kitchener, ON), Brayden Boge (Winnipeg, MB), Grayson Carter (Newton, ON), Jackson Delaurier (Dauphin, MB), Sean Kelly (Innisfail, AB), Edward Li (Markham, ON), and Anthony Whiting (North Vancouver, BC).
 
Led by MJT Tournament Director, Lee JH Lee, these exceptional young golfers are poised to take on the world's best at the renowned Cypress Lakes Golf and Country Club in New South Wales from October 1-4.
 
"We are very excited to once again compete in the ‘largest junior golf tournament in the Southern Hemisphere’ with impressive international participation,” said Lee. "This is a fantastic opportunity for our athletes to showcase their skills, gain invaluable experience, and compete at the highest level."
 
The Jack Newton International Junior Classic offers a unique cultural experience, fostering lifelong friendships and memories. Competing ‘down under’ in this premier event will undoubtedly be a highlight of these young golfers' careers.

About the MJT: The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is Canada’s #1 Junior Golf Tour as well as the only national junior tour run exclusively by PGA of Canada Professionals and the ‘Road to College Golf’ in Canada. The organization is supported by partners across various tiers, including Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels. The MJT hosts more than 100 events across Canada, including free Ford Go Golf Junior Clinics, the MJT Mini Tour for 12U and multi-day events for competitive players aged 11-19 which also offer qualifiers for international tournaments. The program has annual awards, scholarships and incentives to help reward performance and participation throughout each season.
