Canada's #1 Junior Golf Tour

The Road to College Golf, run exclusively by PGA Professionals

Press Release

June 28-29, 2026
Tsawwassen, BC

2 playoffs and 7-year-old’s 67-69 headline 60th annual MJT Harry White Little Masters

The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) celebrated a major milestone on June 28-29, hosting the 60th annual MJT Harry White Little Masters at Tsawwassen Springs in Tsawwassen, BC. Founded by the late Harry White, a pioneer of junior golf development in Canada, the championship continues to honour his enduring legacy by providing one of the country's premier competitive experiences for golfers aged 12 and under.

Some incredible scores were posted out of the nearly 70 young athletes who competed over 36-holes and across six divisions for titles, premium prizes, and coveted qualifying opportunities. Along with earning spots into the 2027 Champions of Champions tournament in Ireland, the event also served as a direct qualifier for the MJT Mini Tour Nationals later this summer. In addition, the low overall boy and low overall girl (ages 11-12) secure exemptions into the Junior Tour’s MJT National Championship at Orange Lake Resort in Kissimmee, Florida, this November, giving the tour's youngest competitors the opportunity to compete on one of Canada's biggest junior golf stages. Top finisher scores and the list of qualified players are noted at the end of the winner highlights.

Twelve-year-old Mason Yuyuan Wang of Vancouver, BC, emerged victorious in the MJT Boys 11-12 division after an exciting playoff with Hayden Soohyun Lee of Port Moody. Wang's two-round total of 146 featured five birdies and an eagle before he sealed the title with a birdie on the extra hole. Keeping things simple was the key to his success. "To try and play safe," he said of his strategy, before giving the tournament ‘100 out of 10.’

A thrilling playoff decided the MJT Girls 11-12 title after 11-year-old Luna Zhou of Vancouver, BC, and 12-year-old Constanza Ordaz Romero of Burnaby, BC, both finished for the lead at 151. Zhou held her nerve to make par on the first extra hole and claim the gold medal. Reflecting on her success, she said, "My coach, parents, and friends helped me get this win," while adding that her focus throughout the tournament was ‘to just focus on one shot at a time.’

Allen Kong, 10, of Vancouver, BC, set the pace in the MJT Boys 9-10 division with an outstanding opening-round 66 (-4) before closing out a 139 total. Along the way, he recorded six birdies and an eagle. Down the stretch, Kong's mindset was straightforward: ‘Make pars, don't make big mistakes.’ He also thanked ‘my dad and my mom for helping me.’

Nine-year-old Yoyo Zhang of Richmond, BC, fired fine rounds of 71 and 72 to win the MJT Girls 9-10 division at 143, highlighted by six birdies over the two days. Her tournament approach was to ‘play well and have fun on both days no matter what happens,’ and afterward she summed up the experience with, ‘I love MJT, 10/10.’

Sawyer Morrow, a seven-year-old from Vancouver, BC, continued his impressive season by firing brilliant scores of 67 (-3) and 69 (-1) to finish at 136 and claim the MJT Boys 8U title. Morrow racked up nine birdies and an eagle over 36 holes while sticking to a simple game plan: ‘Hit fairways and be accurate.’ He credited ‘my dad and my Coach, Austin’ for helping him reach the winner's circle.

Eight-year-old Anna Song of Vancouver, BC, claimed top honours in the MJT Girls 8U division with a two-round score of 163. Song expressed her appreciation for the support she received throughout the event, saying, "My mom and dad helped me by encouraging and teaching me with new, helpful strategies in golf." Her review of the championship was equally enthusiastic: ‘5/5 stars!’

Full results, as well as winners of the Closest-to-the-Pin and Long Drive competitions are posted on the MJT website here.
