Marchand and Wheaton win divisions in 12U MJT Mini Tour at stunning Chester Golf Club in Nova Scotia
Tournament Highlights:

Canada’s number one-played Junior Golf Tour, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, held the first in a series of three events for 12U golfers at the stunning Chester Golf Club, in Chester, NS, on May 29, 2022. The tournament ran in tandem with the
MJT Junior Tour for 19U golfers, resulting in over 70 young players competing altogether over the weekend. Highlights of the Mini Tour event are featured here.

This was the very first tournament experience for all but one of the competitors, making an exciting and fun environment to try playing competitive golf, and also gain some valuable sportsmanship skills in the sport.

Xavier Wheaton, 8, of Memramcook, NB, won the MJT Boys 8U division title with a solid round of 90.

Drew Marchand, 9, of Upper Tantallon, NS, carded a 93 for a one-stroke victory in the Boys 9-10 division.

About the MJT: The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is Canada’s number one-played Junior Golf Tour as well as the only national junior tour run exclusively by PGA of Canada Professionals and the ‘Road to College Golf’ in Canada. The organization is supported by valued Premier, Tournament and Product Partners. The MJT hosts close to 100 events across Canada, including free Ford Go Golf Junior Clinics, the MJT Mini Tour for 12U and multi-day events for competitive players aged 11-19 which also offer qualifiers for international tournaments.
