MJT Alberta Mini Tour sees successful season end with playoff, low scores at Meadowlands

Tournament Highlights:
- The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) hosted the MJT Mini Tour at Meadowlands Golf Club in Sylvan Lake, AB, on September 3, 2022, where 12U golfers took to the course to play 18 holes in the last stop on the successful Alberta circuit this year.
- LukeChai Edge, 11, of Stony Plain, AB, played solid golf to win the MJT Boys 11-12 division title with a score of 94 after creating a two-stroke gap between him and second place.
- Raylee Denton, 12, of Red Deer, AB, shot a great score of 71 to win the MJT Girls 11-12 division title by eight strokes ahead of a three-way tie for second place.
- A playoff was needed in the MJT Boys 9-10 division after both James (Chenrui) Qui, 10, of Surrey, BC, and Edwin Park, 10, of Bentley, AB, had tied for the lead with outstanding scores of 67. Qui came out on top in the playoff to win the division title.
- Sedona Weitz, 9, of Calgary, AB, triumphed in the MJT Girls 9-10 division for her fourth title this season after carding 74 to edge out a one stroke victory.
- Seven-year-old Jix Whitton, of Rocky Mountain House, AB, won the MJT Boys 8U division title by four strokes with a score of 90.
- Ain Lee, 8 of Sylvan Lake, used her home course knowledge to run away with the Girls 8U division title after carding a score of 87.

This event wrapped up the successful 2022 MJT Mini Tour circuit in Alberta. An Early Bird Membership for 2023 will be available on the MJT website in December.
About the MJT: The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is Canada’s number one-played Junior Golf Tour as well as the only national junior tour run exclusively by PGA of Canada Professionals and the ‘Road to College Golf’ in Canada.
