2008 MAJOR QUALIFIERS AND INTERNATIONAL EVENTS
The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour has a mandate to expose players to top competition for gaining experience and building great playing resumes. Since 1999 we have qualified players for many major national and international junior tournaments and provided financial assistance for expenses.

Since 2006, Travel Underwriters, one of Canada's leading providers of travel and health insurance products and services, has been designated the Official International Events Partner of the MJT. Support includes outfitting junior golfers attending international events through the MJT, and providing optional assistance with travel insurance and travel planning. A number of members will receive exemptions into the FCWT National Championship at PGA National Golf Club, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, May 24-26, 2008. Golf at PGA National Resort & Spa offers the experience of a lifetime. With five tournament-caliber tracks, all ranked by Zagat among "America's Top Golf Courses," there is something for every level of player. PGA National has played host to many national and international events, including The Ryder Cup, the PGA Championship and, from 1982 through 2000, the PGA Seniors' Championship.

This opportunity is made possible through a partnership with the Jim McLean/Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT), the second largest junior golf organization in the United States which presents over 60 nationally-ranked junior golf tournaments in the fall, winter and spring throughout the United States. MJT/FCWT members aged 11 to 18 can also take advantage of reciprocal memberships to expand their competitive experiences.

This WORLD YOUTH TEAM CHALLENGE will feature one of the largest contingent of young players from Canada in an international event, competing in a Ryder Cup team format. There will be teams from USA, Mexico, Canada, South Africa, California, Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. This will be a great opportunity for players aged 9-14/15 to test their skills against their counterparts in a team atmosphere and learn the strategies that come with match play. This also gives them an opportunity to meet new people and make new friendships from around the world.

The teams will consist of junior golfers, boys and girls, from the age of 9 to 14/15 years old. Team members have to qualify through sanctioned tournaments to be invited to play in this event, which will be held at the beautiful Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook Illinois, on June 6-10, 2008. The course, facility and clubhouse are ranked as one of the top golf course in Midwest. Golf Magazine ranked Bolingbrook Golf Club the "Top Ten You Can Play". Over 300 new public golf courses opened for play across America in 2002, when the course was selected as one of the top 10. Golf Digest ranked Bolingbrook Golf Club the "Top 15 New Upscale Public Courses for 2003".

The 56th East Aurora International Junior Masters Tournament (EAIJM) is one of America's oldest and most prestigious junior events attracting players from South Africa, Mexico, France, Scotland, Japan, Colombia, Peru and the United States. The 2008 event is scheduled for June 23 - 27. Members of the East Aurora Country Club extend their famous hospitality by billeting all tournament participants, plus taking care of meals and transport to and from East Aurora CC from Buffalo NY.

First played in 1953, the tournament features 36 holes of Stroke Play to qualify for flights of Match Play. The Championship flight is reserved for the top 32 stroke play qualifiers. The EAIJM is part of the Polo Junior All-American Points Series, GolfWeek/Sagarin and Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings. Past contestants and winners of the event include PGA Tour regulars Billy Mayfair, Billy Andrade, Dudley Hart, Jeff Sluman, Joey Sindelar and Rory Sabbatini. The winner receives an invitation to the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions, Polo Golf Junior Classic and the AJGA hp Boys Junior Championship and full AJGA exempt status. The top 4 results receive two AJGA exemptions and the top 8 receive one AJGA exemption.

The Texas Junior Masters will be held August 13-15, 2008, at beautiful Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, TX, USA. Final selection is to be made by June 23.

The 2008 Boys 16-18 Champion will receive 1 AJGA exemption. Exemptions to The 2008 Texas Cup Invitational are still pending. The 2008 Girls 13-18 Champion will also receive 1 AJGA exemption.

The 7th Annual International Junior Golf Invitational features 8 player teams from countries including the United States, Mexico, Canada and Guatemala playing a modified Ryder Cup format. Held just outside of Mexico City at Club de Golf Santa Fe in Cuernavaca, August 4-9, 2008, this event celebrates cultural diversity through junior golf for boys and girls, 18 and under. Network TV coverage by Fox Sports (Latin) and MVS nationwide. 2008 CKG WORLD Tour Championship

MJT members are invited to qualify for the inaugural CKG Tour World Championship which will be held at three great golf courses: Wachesaw Plantation East, Tradition Golf Club & Indigo Creek Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA on August 6-10, 2008.

The MJT will qualify Maple Leaf Team Canada for the 4th Annual Scotland Kingdom of Fife Team Matches in Fife, Scotland, August 18-25, 2008.

This outstanding international opportunity is for an MJT team, who will have the chance to play great golf courses including St. Andrews GC, in the home of golf, under the guidance of Team Captain Jeff Chambers, CPGA and Junior Promoter of the Year, SK. The matches will expand this year to also include competition against the Lothians near Edinburgh.

2008 CANADA INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP CUP

Maple Leaf Team Canada will compete in the inaugural Canada International Friendship Cup on August 20 - 22, 2008 at Northview Golf & Country Club in Surrey, BC, Canada. There will be four teams in this international event which is for boys 9 - 18 and girls 10 - 18

MJT BOSTON PIZZA NATIONAL TOUR
The MJT Boston Pizza National Tour Championship is an elite field invitational event for the top finishers in the MJT Cleveland Golf National Order of Merit-point ratings across Canada (best 3 finishes in OOM points divided by 3).

A maximum of 72 of the MJT's best juniors will tee it up to decide the individual and regional champions for the 2008 season in the home of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games - Whistler, British Columbia. Participants will play both rounds at the fabulous Nicklaus North Golf Course on August 25-26 and teams from every MJT region will compete.

Whistler, BC, is a superb venue. A world famous resort renowned for its panoramic beauty, with challenging golf courses set in the heart of Canada's Blackcomb and Whistler mountains.

Maple Leaf Team Canada will be back for a 4th year in the annual CAN-USA Team Matches at ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona, December 5-7, 2008. Maple Leaf Team Canada is accompanied by a non-playing Team Captain to the 54 hole tournament in Arizona, which is held in conjunction with the ASU Junior Classic on the Jim McLean/Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) .
