MJT announces teams for 2026 Junior America’s Cup at renowned Omni La Costa Resort
Vancouver, BC - (June 3, 2026) – Eight of Canada's top junior golfers have earned the opportunity to represent their provinces and country at one of the most distinguished junior team events in North America, the 2026 Junior America’s Cup (JAC), taking place July 26–30 at the renowned Omni La Costa Resort, South Course in San Diego, California, one of the premier championship venues in North America and the current host site of the NCAA Division I Golf Championships.
The Junior America’s Cup brings together elite junior golfers from across North America in a unique team competition format, where the lowest three scores from each four-player team count toward the daily total. Players will compete against teams representing 12 U.S. states, Mexico, and Canada in a championship that has served as a launching pad for some of the game's biggest names for more than 60 years.
The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada's leading junior golf circuit, has qualified the following athletes to represent British Columbia and Alberta at this year's event:

MJT Team British Columbia Troy Gadalla – Vancouver, BC

"The Junior America's Cup has a long history of showcasing some of the best young talent in the game, and we're proud to have these eight athletes representing the MJT, their provinces, and Canada this year," said Trent Matson, MJT National Director of Operations. "They've earned this opportunity through their performance on the course, and we know they'll represent themselves extremely well in San Diego."
For more than six decades, the Junior America's Cup has served as a proving ground for future stars of the game. Alumni include major champions and PGA Tour winners such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, Charley Hoffman, Kevin Na, and many others who first showcased their talents in this prestigious event.
The MJT remains committed to providing Canadian junior golfers with meaningful opportunities to compete at the highest levels of the game and gain valuable international experience. We congratulate the members of MJT Team British Columbia and MJT Team Alberta on this outstanding achievement and wish them the best of luck as they prepare to compete in San Diego this July.
