Popeye’s Supplements signs on as Platinum Partner of Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour

The Maple Leaf Junior Tour (MJT), Canada’s #1 played junior golf tour, is proud to announce major sponsorship by Popeye’s Supplements, the #1 retailer of Sports Nutrition products in Canada.

Aligning with the MJT's mission to provide exceptional opportunities for junior golfers to develop their skills and pursue their passion for the game at over 100 events across the country, Popeye’s Supplements will become a Platinum Partner in 2024, as Title Sponsor of both the MJT Order of Merit and the MJT Players of the Year Awards.

“This is fantastic support from Popeye’s Supplements for junior golfers in Canada,” said Murray Poje, MJT Executive Director. “The partnership demonstrates their shared values with the MJT of nurturing growth, fostering excellence, and promoting sportsmanship.”

“Popeye’s Supplements Canada is always honored to support young athletes and families in sports,” said Bernie Ferbey, CEO, President, and Founder of Popeye’s Supplements Canada. “The MJT junior golf tour has done an outstanding job with this program. It has exposed young athletes to learn, perform, lead and mentor while creating lifelong friendships and sportsmanship,” added Ferbey. “The tour provides juniors that pathway to chase their dreams in achieving golfing excellence, a pathway of excellence that Popeye’s Supplements Canada has been known for over 30 years, this why its such a great fit and great partnership!”

Since its inception, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour has employed an Order of Merit (OOM) ranking system to acknowledge player ability and participation. This system also serves to qualify members for invitation to the prestigious MJT National Championship presented by adidas Golf at the end of each season. The highly watched MJT OOM leaderboards in each division, provincially and nationally, will be powered by Popeye’s Supplements.

The title of national MJT Player of the Year powered by Popeye’s Supplements will be bestowed at the end of the season upon the top junior in six divisions (Girls U15, Girls 15-19, Peewee Boys, Bantam Boys, Juvenile Boys, Junior Boys), determined by their scoring averages across a mandatory minimum number of tournament rounds.
