MJT set to launch 22nd season with Humber College PGM Classic presented by TaylorMade

Humber College renews national MJT partnership


Vancouver, BC – (March 3, 2020) - The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) launches its 22nd season with the three-day MJT Humber College PGM Classic presented by TaylorMade at University Golf Club in Vancouver, BC, March 14 to 16. This heavily wait-listed tournament marks the first of close to 90 MJT events to be held coast to coast by Canada’s number one-played junior golf tour in 2020.

The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is also proud to announce a renewed national partnership with Humber College Professional Golf Management, featuring five sponsored events across Canada. The other four events after the MJT Humber College PGM Classic at University Golf Club will take place at Hidden Lake Golf Club in Burlington, ON, May 9 to 10, at Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course in Banff, AB, May 17 to 18, at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Maple, ON, August 1 to 2, and at Fox Harb’r Resort in Wallace, NS, August 19 to 20.

Players at each stop will receive gifting courtesy of Title Sponsor, Humber College PGM, in addition to MJT members being eligible for bursaries to attend the Humber College Professional Golf Management Program.

After another record-breaking MJT early bird membership registration period, over 100 of the top young golfers in the region will tee off at 10:00 am on March 14 in the season opener on the premier, 91-year-old University Golf Course for titles in six age divisions as well as valuable Order of Merit points and rankings The three-day event qualifies for World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), the Golf Canada Future Links Junior Order of Merit, Global Junior Golf and Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings, and American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) PBE stars. Additionally, the low medalists from the Juvenile and Junior Boys divisions will receive direct exemptions into the 2020 International Junior Masters in New York State and the BC Golf Junior Boys Championship in Oliver, BC, later this summer.

Following the MJT Humber College PGM Classic presented by TaylorMade, Canada’s most-played junior golf tour continues the next week with the already full MJT Spring Series at Redwoods Golf Course in Langley, BC, on March 21 and 22.

About the MJT: The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is Canada’s number one-played Junior Golf Tour as well as the only national junior tour run exclusively by PGA of Canada Professionals and the ‘Road to College Golf’ in Canada.
