Canada’s most-played junior golf tour tees off Ontario opener this weekend with Freedom 55 Financial-presented major event

Cambridge, ON – (April 22, 2019) – The Ontario opener for the 21st season of Canada’s number-one played Junior Golf Tour will be competed on prestigious Galt Country Club in Cambridge, April 26 to 28, 2019. The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s MJT Spring Classic presented by Freedom 55 Financial is wait-listed, with a full field of 90 elite junior golfers set to play 54 holes in five divisions: Bantam Boys, Juvenile Boys, Junior Boys, Girls U15 and Girls 15-18.
The Galt tournament has several major rankings including those by World Amateur Golf (WAGR), AJGA (Performance Based Entry), Golf Canada, Golf Ontario and the MJT’s National Order of Merit. Galt Country Club is also the host venue for the 2019 Golf Ontario Junior Girls Championship, making this event a good practice opportunity.
The tournament covers three rounds of golf, TaylorMade tee gifts, Hoselton trophies, prizes, refreshments and pizza from National and Founding Sponsor, Boston Pizza. Direct exemptions into the 2019 Future Champions Callaway World Golf Championships in Rancho Mirage, CA, July 15 to 17, are also up for grabs on Canada’s exclusive qualifying tour for FCG.
The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour encourages young golfers to play in professionally-run tournaments with the objective of improving skills through competition.
