2018 MJT Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is pleased to have selected over a dozen members to receive MJT scholarships this year, based on their athletic, academic and community involvement.

A $1,000 MJT Scholarship was awarded to Jacob Armstrong from Winnipeg, MB, who plays out of both St. Boniface and Southwood Golf Clubs. Jacob competed in four provinces in 2018 on the MJT and won two titles. “I am beyond excited to receive this award.  The MJT has played a major role in my development as a golfer over the past four years, preparing my game for the next level that is college golf.  I am thankful to the MJT for all their support and opportunities provided to me.”

A $750 Scholarship was awarded to another four-year MJT veteran, Ranen Oomen-Danckert from Mono, ON, a Shelburne Golf & Country Club member and three event winner in 2018. “Thank you so much for selecting me for this award, it means a great deal.”

Six-year MJT veteran Ronnie Postnikoff of Courtenay, BC and a member at Crown Isle Resort, was awarded a $500 Scholarship. “First of all, I would like to thank the MJT for this award. The MJT has been extremely beneficial for me over the years and I am very proud of the person I’ve become because of it. This award will be extremely helpful for me at the University of North Dakota.”
