MJT Announces Appointment of New National Director of Player Development
The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, Canada’s #1-played multi-day Junior Tour, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Smallwood, PGA Professional, as the new National Director of Player Development. This role will help ensure that the MJT is utilizing the best practices for the future development of junior golfers across the country via tournament competition. Dave Smallwood is in his 31st year as a PGA of Canada Professional and is Director of Instruction at both the Golf Performance Center at Old Corkscrew GC (Ft Myers, Florida) and the Golf Performance Center at Whistle Bear GC (Cambridge, Ontario) where he is Coach of the Whistle Bear Junior Performance Team and heads up a Junior Golf Development Centre as part of the Golf Association of Ontario’s program. Dave has played on Provincial Teams for Ontario at all levels, junior, Assistant Professional and also Club Professional and has been honored with the Ontario PGA Merchandiser of the Year and the Ontario PGA Teaching Professional of the Year.
