Congrats to MJT Alumnus Adam Svensson of Surrey, BC, a 7-year MJT veteran, who won medalist honours at the Matlock Collegiate Classic at Lone Palm GC in Florida last week. Adam is currently a sophomore at Barry University. For the complete story click here…
MJT Alumnus Ki Taek (Kevin) Lee, who won the 2007 and 2008 China Junior Open when sent by the MJT, won two MJT National Tour Championship titles and is currently an Arizona State University freshman, took top honors in the PGA Tour’s qualifying tournament at McCormick Ranch Golf Club, shooting 65 to land a spot in what was his first PGA Tour event at the Phoenix Open. Here is Ki Taek’s quote from the 2007 China Junior Open: “The MJT has taught me how to play tough in tournaments. I started on the MJT when I was 9 years old and won the Sundog Closest-to-the-Pin prize and still have it. I remember I was so excited. Before I came to the China Junior Open I didn’t know it was such a big tournament. But there were very good players and 80 in just my age group. ….. Thank you to my teammates, the MJT, to my parents more than anyone, and Min Kim, my teacher at Cloverdale Indoor Golf (in B.C.).”
