EMERY WINS MJT QUAGMIRE GOLF CLASSIC IN PLAYOFF

Ancaster, ON - (May 24, 2010) - A great field of top junior golfers competed over the May long weekend in the MJT Quagmire Golf Classic at Mystic GC in Ontario, vying for division titles and qualifying spots. In the Boys 17-19 division, Sterling Emery, 19, of Orangeville, was six under after 16 holes, with Brad Burgess, 17, of St. Catherine's, four shots back. Emery finished bogey, double bogey to score 78-69 and tie with Burgess (75-72), forcing a playoff. Emery won on the first playoff hole after hitting it to seven feet while Burgess went in the bunker. The other division winners were Madison Easterbrook (86-73) of Burlington in Girls, Colin Abbot (77-75) of Port Stanley in Boys 14-16 and Craig Stefureak (79-81) in Boys 13 & under.
