FIRST TIMERS DOMINATE MJT SEASON OPENER IN ONTARIO; FOUR WIN INTERNATIONAL EXEMPTIONS
Petersburg, ON - (May 10, 2010)Torrential rains and high winds at Rebel Creek Golf Course in Petersburg over mother's day weekend forced the Ontario season-opener on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) to be shortened to 18 holes, which played out May 9th in cold, windy weather. The packed field of junior golfers competed for division titles and spots in the following international tournaments: the 58th East Aurora International Junior Masters (EAIJM) in New York State, USA; the Future Collegiate World Tour (FCWT) National Championship in Florida, USA; and the Faldo Series U.K. Championship at Trentham in England. Division winners were Craig Stefureak( 83) in Boys 13 & under, Jamie Cherutti (75) in Boys 14-16, Michael Jiggins (75) in Boys 17-19 and Madison Easterbrook (84) in the Girls Division.
