MJT ALUMNUS CARRIES OLYMPIC TORCH; MJT TO CELEBRATE INCLUSION OF GOLF IN THE 2016 OLYMPICS
MJT alumnus and poster boy in 2007, Nick Taylor, (picture by Rick MacDonald) a senior at Washington State and No. 3 in the Golfweek/ amateurgolf.com Player Rankings, carried the Olympic torch in his hometown of Abbotsford, BC, on February 7th. According to Golfweek, Taylor, a former Canadian Junior and Canadian Men's Amateur champion, said, "It wasn't quite what I expected. There were people out on the streets cheering. I was the next-to-last person to carry the torch before it entered into a stadium with 12,000-14,000 fans waiting."
