GARGARO NAMED GOLFER OF THE WEEK
FOLLOWING LAS VEGAS COLLEGIATE SHOWDOWN
| Congratulations to Eastern Washinton University Freshman Kristina Gargaro who earned Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week accolades after three outstanding rounds of play at the prestigious Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown which concluded October 31st. "I'm really proud of Kristina," head coach Marc Hughes said. "She deserves the award; she had a great week against the hardest field we will face this year. She's been our best player the last two tournaments, which isn't easy to do as a freshman. That bodes well for her future and our team's future. She's a great player who will continue to improve." Gargaro, 18, from Port Moody, B.C., has played 27 multi-day tournaments on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour since 2003. Earlier this year she represented Canada via MJT Team Canada at the 2007 China Junior Open and will go to the 3rd annual CAN-USA Team Matches at ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona this December.
