TWO MORE FOR TEXAS AFTER MJT-ONTARIO PGA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

LONDON, ON - A major event on the MJT, endorsed by the Ontario Professional Golfers' Association (OPGA), played out July 30th and 31st, on Forest City National GC in London, ON. The 36-hole tournament, the MJT-Ontario PGA Junior Championship, is part of a series of national events pioneered by the MJT in conjunction with the provincial CPGA zones. Junior golfers from all over Ontario took part.

Meg Pototshnik, 15, of Stratford and Sunningdale Golf and Country Club, fired the low overall score for the field (76-75=151), winning her division and the girl's spot on Maple Leaf Team Canada to Texas for the North American Junior Championships at New Braunfels, Texas, this December.
A three-stroke victory claimed the boy's exemption for Travis Horvath, 16, of Tillsonburg and Tillsonburg Golf Club, who fired 73-80 for a 36-hole total of 153, also scooping the MJT-Ontario PGA Junior Boys 14-16 champion's trophy.
