DEMEESTER FIRES 3-UNDER PAR TO TAKE MJT TEAM SPOT TO ARIZONA

BURLINGTON, ON - Kyle Demeester, 18, of Langton, blazed through two days of competition in the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour's (MJT) stop at Hidden Lake Golf Club in Burlington, ON, to post an outstanding 3-under-par total score of 139, capturing both the Boys 17 and up division title and overall low honours for the field.

Demeester, a junior member at Delhi Golf Club, qualified for a spot on the four-player team in the CAN/USA Team matches at ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona, this December. The rest of the team are selected from other MJT qualifiers across Canada.

Demeester's scores of 69-70 beat Colin Wright, 17, of Burlington by six strokes in his division. Wright shot 72-73 (145) on his home course to finish second, while Johnny Hall, 17, of Langton, placed third one stroke back (69-77=146).
