Canada's #1 Junior Golf Tour

The Road to College Golf, run exclusively by PGA Professionals

Welcome to the 2004 Maple Leaf Junior Tour!

Canada?s Only Major Junior Tour Run Exclusively By Golf Professionals Has A New Name!
As one of Canada?s most successful junior golf programs, the Western Canada Junior Golf Tour has launched its 2004 season with a bigger program, a grander vision and a new name that better reflects its national presence: the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour.
We welcome you to our sixth season, featuring 30 events across the country this year, in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
Launched in 1999 as a non-profit program offering high-level, multi-day tournaments for boys and girls ages 10 through 23, the Tour was initially renamed the Nationwide Junior Golf Tour, with two events held under that banner in Ontario last year. The junior Tour recently came to an agreement with the PGA Tour to change the name, however, as the PGA Tour operates the Nationwide Tour for professional golfers.
The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, like its predecessor, is the only major junior tour in Canada run by Golf Professionals, which include Dean Spriddle, Canadian Ladies National Team Coach and past PGA Teacher of the Year, and Ashley Chinner, past Canadian PGA National Champion.
"As a CPGA Professional we are fortunate to pass on our knowledge and professionalism to these junior events,? says Spriddle, who was CPGA Teacher of the Year 2002. ?The events are first class and kids of all skill levels can compete. And we're pleased with our new name because it represents a national presence, not simply a Western one."
