MJT Maui Jim Series delivers high-stakes playoff finish and more at Rebel Creek
The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada’s leading and most competitive junior golf circuit, continued its 2025 national schedule with another MJT Maui Jim Series event, this time at Rebel Creek Golf Club in Petersburg, ON, June 7–8. A heavily waitlisted field of 88 players with top junior talent from across the region competed in six age divisions, all chasing not only division titles but spots in prestigious international events. Up for grabs at the high-level tournament were stylish Maui Jim sunglasses for each of the six division winners, along with qualifying opportunities for the East Coast Junior Championship, MJT National Tour Challenge, and MJT Team Canada to Australia for the Jack Newton International Junior Classic.
Adding to the atmosphere, Foresight Sports Canada was onsite during round one with a full activation on the range, allowing players to analyze their launch data, ball speed, spin rates, and club performance, a valuable tool as they fine-tuned their games ahead of competition.
The MJT Juvenile Boys division delivered one of the most thrilling finishes of the tournament, when Trent Clarke (16) of Vineland, ON, and Callum McDonald (15) of Mount Forest, ON, finished tied at the top with a score of 143 after two rounds of outstanding play. The pair combined for 21 birdies, with Clarke carding nine and McDonald racking up an impressive 12. The title was decided on the first playoff hole, where Clarke sealed the win with a composed par to capture his first MJT victory.
