Six champions crowned in elite 112-player MJT Ford Series event at McKenzie Meadows
A major three-day stop on Canada’s most competitive and talent-packed junior circuit, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), unfolded at McKenzie Meadows Golf Club in Calgary, Alberta, from July 14–16.
The MJT Ford Series (PGA of Alberta) event, a WAGR-ranked, 54-hole Elite Series tournament, drew a heavily waitlisted field of 112 outstanding junior golfers competing in six divisions for championship hardware, premium prizing, coveted qualifying spots in the JNJG International Junior Classic in Australia and the MJT National Tour Challenge in Ontario, and a shot at winning a brand-new Ford Escape in an exciting Ford Hole-in-One Contest.
After 36 holes of play under challenging mid-summer conditions, there was a cut to advance to the final round of the 54-hole showdown. With the pressure on, players rose to the occasion, showing grit and focus to deliver standout results.
Fantastic under-par scoring led to impressive victories. Brae Rogalczyk, 17, of Innisfail, AB, lit it up the leaderboard with a lights-out finish of 75, 66, 64 (205) in MJT Junior Boys to win the title and Low Overall Boy Honours at 11-under-par. And Bennett Love, 14, from Red Deer, AB, shot scorching scores of 75, 64, 69 (208) in MJT Juvenile Boys (8-under-par).
