Players battle for titles in wet and windy MJT Ontario Series at FireRock

There was a long waitlist for the final MJT stop on the regular season in Ontario, which played out at FireRock Golf Club in Komoka on September 7-8. Those juniors who braved the forecast ended up battling shocking weather with the season’s worst wind and rain to date, which forced the first round to be cut short after just nine holes for both female divisions. Round two, however, saw sunny skies welcome the competitors, highlighting the fantastic facility.  Titles in six divisions were up for grabs, along with a final chance to qualify for the 2025 Champion of Champions World Invitational in Enniskillen, UK, as juniors triumphed over the elements and finished strong.

Great scores were carded by both the Boys and Girls Low Overall winners, Benjamin Hudson, 17, from Aisla Craig, ON, winner of MJT Junior Boys (72,76=148) and Adrianna Salalila, 15, from Peterborough, ON, winner of MJT Girls 15-19 (38,77=115).

Other fine performances resulted in division titles also being awarded to Grayson Carter, 15, of Newton, ON, in MJT Juvenile Boys (153), Callum McDonald, 14, of Mount Forest, ON, in MJT Bantam Boys (154), Gracie Vescan, 14, from Mississauga, ON, in MJT Girls U15 (121), and Mark Luan, 12, from Toronto, ON, in MJT Peewee Boys (164).
