The great game of golf continued to see growth in Atlantic Canada this past weekend, where a field of 63 young players aged from six to 18 took part in the non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s stop at the challenging Sussex Golf and Curling Club in Sussex Corner, New Brunswick. The juniors were competing on Canada’s number one-played Junior Tour in either the two-day Junior Tour (19U) event on June 10 and 11, or the one-day Mini Tour (12U) event on June 10. Results of the Mini Tour are highlighted here.
Two very young golfers, Alex MacDonald, 8, of Fall River, NS, and Xavier Wheaton, 9, of Memramcook, NS, qualified for the season-ending MJT Mini Tour National Championship in British Columbia this August, joining Borden Nicholson, 10, of Pictou, NS, who is already exempt. Top finisher scores with winner quotes are noted below.
