MJT Manitoba Mini Tour for 12U continues to grow with successful stop in Steinbach

The great game of golf continued to see growth in Manitoba this past weekend, where a field of 76 young players aged from seven to 18 took part in the non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s stop at Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club in Steinbach. The juniors were competing on Canada’s number one-played Junior Tour in either the two-day Junior Tour (19U) event on June 10 and 11, or the one-day Mini Tour (12U) event on June 10. Results of the Mini Tour are highlighted here.

There were lots of smiles across the board as the MJT Manitoba team hosted the young players and their caddies in a fun and encouraging environment, despite the wind challenging everyone on the tree-lined Steinbach course.  Six qualified for the MJT Mini Tour National Championship in British Columbia this August - Sadie Blazeiko, Angelina Sitarz, Jack Holmes, Ryan Small, Ethan Sitarz (all from Winnipeg) and Bryce Hanska (from Sioux Valley Dakota Nation).  Top results with quotes from each division winner are noted below.

The next stop in the province is the MJT Mini Tour at Selkirk Golf and Country Club in Selkirk, MB, on July 6, 2023.  To register or for more information on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, please see www.maplejt.com
