Great field for Manitoba junior golf in MJT Maui Jim Series at Carman

The final stop in the Maui Jim Series on Canada’s number-one played junior golf tour, the non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), played out this past week at Carman Golf Club in Carman, Manitoba, where winners in each division were awarded with fantastic prizes of Maui Jim sunglasses. There was also the opportunity to gain valuable MJT Order of Merit points which count towards qualification into the MJT National Championship presented by TaylorMade and adidas Golf at Wigwam Golf Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona, this November.   

Some amazing golf was played on the tricky Carman course, showing that the game is strong in Manitoba.  With top females in the province playing at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship, the field of 66 boys delivered solid participation in four age divisions. Although shorter than most championship courses, Carman Golf Club held its own. Nineteen-year-old Thomas Scott of Dauphin, MB, broke par on day two to win the MJT Junior Boys title and Low Overall score.  Additional highlights included Owen Conrad, 12, and Hudson Hunnie, 14, both of Winnipeg, winning their second events of the season while Spence Mott, 16, of Brandon, MB, fired the low score of the tournament on day one to hold on for the MJT Juvenile Boys title.
