Great scoring out of 107-strong field in three-day MJT-Edge School Summer Classic’s Sundre stop

Tournament Highlights:
- A deep field of 107 young golfers came out to compete in the three-day Maple Leaf Junior Tour’s MJT Edge School Summer Classic at Coyote Creek Golf Club in Sundre, AB, on August 15-17, a major Order of Merit Points event to help qualify players for the MJT National Championship presented by TaylorMade & adidas Golf at Orange County National in Orlando, FL, this November.
- Aneesh Kaura, 17, of Calgary, AB, blazed his way through 54 holes on the perfectly manicured Coyote Creek layout to fire fantastic rounds of 68,72,67=209, finishing at four-under-par to win the MJT Junior Boys title in style. Kaura, who has been recruited to play on the Golf Team at Simon Fraser University, also tied for the low overall boys’ score with Brett Jones in the Juvenile Boys division.
- Jones, 16, of Calgary, AB, continued his hot streak on this MJT season by firing outstanding rounds of 70,72,67=209 to win the MJT Juvenile Boys title, simultaneously tying for the low overall boys’ score, with a two-way tie for runner-up just three-strokes back.
- In the MJT Girls 15-19 division, Sydney Bisgrove, 16, of Calgary, AB, shot out of the starting gates with a brilliant opening round of 67, and lead wire-to-wire to win her division title and the low overall girls’ score (67,73,75 =215).
- It was a battle for podium positions in the MJT 15U Girls division, finally won by Kali Yeske, 13, of Calgary, AB, who took a three-stroke victory with solid scores of 78,76,78=232.
- Excellent scoring from Tyler Kidd, 14, of Calgary, AB, saw him edge out a one-stroke victory in the MJT Bantam Boys division after shooting 69,71,72=212 (-1) for a comeback win.
- Continuing his successful 2022 MJT season, the MJT Peewee Boys winner was Jayden Arnold, 12, of Calgary, AB, who shot 77,70,72=219 for a seven-stroke winning margin.
