Impressive scores, scenery and field size highlight MJT Humber College PGM Classic in Banff; Kaura on fire with 65, 68 for Low Overall

After lengthy frost delays, Aneesh Kaura, 17, of Calgary, AB, blazed his way fighting darkness to fire 65-68 (nine under-par), winning the MJT Junior and Low Overall Boys titles along with a spot in the Junior America’s Cup and the PGA Tour Canada-affiliated MJT ATB Future Stars Invitational.

The Tong brothers from Heritage Pointe, AB, both take four-stroke leads to win their respective division titles in style; Josiah in MJT Juvenile Boys (68-73) and Solomon in MJT Peewee Boys (81-75).

Brady Durkin, 14, of Sylvan Lake, AB, birdied the last two out of three holes and almost got a hole-in-one on hole four, winning the MJT Bantam Boys title.

Jayla Kucy, 16, of Camrose, AB, went birdie, birdie on her last three holes to shoot 71-75 for her first MJT Girls 15-19 title of the season.

In the MJT Girls U15 Division, winner Saylar May, 13, of Rocky Mountain House, AB, put on a solid two day performance (77-79).

My favourite shots were when I hit a 215 yard drive off the deck on 18, and when I made a 20 foot slider on hole seven.”
