MJT finishes off successful season at University Golf Club
Vancouver, BC – (October 6, 2014) – Another successful season on the Boston Pizza-presented Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour came to a close at University Golf Club in Vancouver, BC, on Saturday, October 4th, where a full field of junior golfers enjoyed a great golf course and beautiful weather in the MJT Nationwide One Day Fall Series. “We have once again seen a high level of participation and some outstanding results from junior golfers,” said Murray Poje, MJT Executive Director and PGA Professional.
The Low Overall title was shared by Josh Miller, 17, of Saanichton, BC, and James Kim, 16, of Vancouver, who both shot 73 to win their divisions of MJT Junior Boys 17-19 and Juvenile Boys 15-16 respectively.
Miller cited his five birdies as key to his first MJT victory, stating, “I got off to a poor start and the two players in my group seemed solid, but I battled back after two doubles. The course was in great condition and the greens were awesome. I’m happy that all the hard work I put in throughout the summer is paying off.” Runner up in Junior Boys was Austin Bosquet, 17, of Coldstream, BC, who shot 74, and third place went to Tyler Leclair, 17, of North Vancouver, BC (76).
