Four shortlisted for Callaway Junior World Championship at MJT’s Morgan Creek Stop

Surrey, B.C. – (April 9, 2012) – A hole-in-one from Jared du Toit of Kimberley, BC, helped him to finish one shot ahead to win the Boys 14-16 division and overall tournament medalist title with scores of 71-72 over the Easter weekend at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s event at Morgan Creek Golf Course in Surrey, which was attended by players from far and wide and was a qualifier for various age groups in the Callaway Junior World Golf Championship.

“It’s a good feeling (to win), especially after the not so good start,” said du Toit, 16, whose home course in Kimberley is still covered with snow. Du Toit cited his ace on the 16th hole on day two as the key to his victory and tournament highlight. He is now shortlisted for a Boys 15-17 spot in the Callaway Junior World Championship in San Diego this July, pending the outcome of other MJT qualifiers across the country.

Runner-up behind du Toit in the Boys 14-16 division was Chris Crisologo, 16, of Richmond, BC, who fired back-to-back rounds of 72 for a 144 total, just one shot behind the winner. Third place went to Colton Dorion, 16, of Surrey, BC, who carded 74-76 (150). Fourth place was claimed by James Kim, 14, of Langley, BC, who shot 75-76 and is the eligible age to be shortlisted for a Boys 13-14 spot in the Callaway Junior World Championship.
