PLAY-OFF GREAT SEND OFF TO MJT SEASON IN BC

VANCOUVER, B.C. - (October 18, 2010) –
The final stop on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s MJT British Columbia One Day Fall Series played out in perfect golfing weather at University Golf Club in Vancouver this past Saturday, October 16, where a three-way playoff was needed to decide the overall champion.

Oscar Baek, 15, of Coquitlam, Callum Robinson, 16, of Langley, and Austin Hughes, 15, of Tsawwassen, tied for the lead after all shooting great scores of one-under-par 71, so headed into a playoff where Hughes parred to finish third, Robinson birdied to finish second, and Baek eagled to win low overall and the Boys 14-16 title. “I hit my drive on the playoff hole into the rough and I had a difficult left to right shot from 198 yards. I hit my second shot two feet from the pin and eagled for the win,” outlined Baek, who named his great ball striking and getting up and down in many difficult places as key to his victory. “I feel great about winning the last tournament here at University Golf Club. I feel proud about myself and I feel on top of the world.”
