ST-BASILE-LE-GRAND, QC – The rain came down but the junior golfers forged ahead in the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s (MJT) two day tournament at Club de Golf Rive-Sud in St-Basile-le-Grand, QC, on August 7th and 8th, where Emmanuel Foucher fired great rounds of 76-77 to win low overall score and the Boys 14-16 division title.
Foucher, 15, of Laval Ouest, claimed low overall score by two strokes and won his division by 10 strokes. “I did my best on every shot and it turned out well,” he said. “The best part of my game was chipping and putting and I felt very relaxed.” The runner-up in Boys 14-16 was Sebastien Guay, 15, of Ste-Catherine, who shot 80-83. Third place in the division went to Alexander Wilhelm, 14, of Mt. St. Hilaire, who shot 82-83 (165).
