JOHNS AND ZABA TIE FOR LOW OVERALL ON MJT AT WOODLAWN

ESTEVAN, SK – Mitchell Zaba, 18, of Deer Valley, SK, pulled ahead of first round leader Jeff Lucyk, 18, of Belcarres, at Woodlawn Golf Club in Estevan and won the Boys 17 and up title in the MJT’s final stop in SK this season by three strokes after firing 76-71 for a 147 total score. “Before the final round I had a game plan and I believe that sticking to it was very key,” said Zaba.
In the Boys 14-16 division, Joshua Johns, 16, of Fort Qu’Appelle, SK, came from behind to post a great closing round of 71 for a 147 total score, which won him the title by six strokes. “I stayed focused on each shot while maintaining a calm mood and not getting too excited or too disappointed on shots,” he said, citing his tournament highlight as a one-putt eagle on the 7th hole.
