Canada's #1 Junior Golf Tour

 

The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour returned to Merry-Hill Golf Club in Breslau on September 19, where a waitlisted field of talented golfers aged 12 and under competed in the final Ontario MJT Mini Tour event of the 2026 season.
 

Players battled across five divisions for the province’s final titles of the year, along with custom medals and an outstanding selection of prizes, bringing another highly competitive Mini Tour season to a close.
 

The growth seen throughout 2026 has set a new benchmark for the MJT in Ontario, with deeper fields, stronger competition, and friendships formed throughout a record-setting season. With 2027 Early Bird Membership opening this December, preparations are already underway to build on that momentum with an even bigger year ahead.

Mississauga’s Kavnbir Gill put together a steady round of 69 to finish atop the MJT Boys 11–12 division. The 11-year-old approached the course with an emphasis on leaving himself manageable misses around the greens. “My strategy was picking spots for chipping and making sure my misses would still be in a good spot,” said Gill, who described the course as ‘nice and difficult.’

 

In a highly contested MJT Girls 11–12 field, 11-year-old Jiaqi (Jessie) Wang of Aurora, ON, emerged with the top score of 71. Wang kept her game plan simple, and her mindset positive, throughout the round: “Hit well, don’t get rage baited and stay happy.” One of her favourite moments came at the 10th hole, where she earned closest-to-the-pin honours.

 

A three-stroke margin separated Roy Qi from a tie for second in the MJT Boys 9–10 division, with the 10-year-old Richmond Hill golfer posting a 68. One of the most important moments came late in his round after trouble around the 16th green. Qi pointed to ‘a 7-yard putt on the 16th to save par after a bad chip’ as a shot that helped him down the stretch. His verdict on the event was an emphatic ‘10/10.’

 

Oakville, ON’s Lanai Park edged the MJT Girls 9–10 competition by a single stroke, recording a 71 at age 10. “My strongest part in this tournament was my full swings,” said Park, whose consistency helped provide the narrow difference on the leaderboard. She also gave the event a ‘10/10,’ adding, “No feedback, just stay happy.”

 

Every stroke mattered in the MJT Boys 8U division, where just one shot separated each of the three podium positions. Eight-year-old Liam Lin of Markham, ON, finished at the top with a 74 after adopting a conservative approach to the course. “My strategy on the golf course today was playing safe,” he said. Asked which moments stood out in his round, Lin didn't hesitate: “All of my drives.”
