Canada's #1 Junior Golf Tour

 

Another season of Mini Tour golf in Saskatchewan reached the finish line on August 28, with Wildwood Golf Course in Saskatoon providing the stage for the province’s final stop of 2026.  Thirty-one talented golfers aged 12 and under teed it up across five divisions in the 18-hole event, competing for division titles, custom medals, and VOVEX Speakers as the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) celebrated the conclusion of an outstanding Mini Tour season in the province.
 

From growing fields and impressive performances to the friendships and camaraderie built along the way, Saskatchewan’s youngest competitors gave the MJT plenty to celebrate in 2026, and plenty to look forward to when the Mini Tour returns next season.
 

With another exciting year ahead, 2027 MJT Early Bird Memberships will go on sale this December, opening the door for the next season of competition, development and memories on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour.
 

Eleven-year-old Liam Shoffner of St. Denis, SK, took the MJT Boys 11-12 title with a round of 78, highlighted by a well-executed birdie on the sixth. “On hole 6, I chipped it to two feet for an easy birdie,” said Shoffner, who summed up his day at Wildwood simply: “I enjoyed the tournament. It was a blast.”

 

Regina’s Makinlee McCrystal, 11, claimed the top spot in the MJT Girls 11-12 division after posting an 89. McCrystal credited a resilient mindset for helping her around Wildwood, reminding herself to ‘keep going and don’t get upset.’ Asked about her experience competing on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, she added, “It’s amazing, everyone is friendly, and I love the challenges like long drive!”

A score of 83 earned 10-year-old Saskatoon golfer Grady Robillard the MJT Boys 9-10 title. Robillard pointed to ‘a decent mind game and [being] good at recovering from a bad shot’ as strengths in his game, an approach that served him well in the season-ending event. His review of the experience was equally straightforward: “I love MJT tournaments.”

Mae McTavish capped a spectacular Mini Tour season with another standout performance, firing a 71 to secure the MJT Girls 9-10 title. The 10-year-old from Canora, SK, poured in three birdies over eighteen holes while following one particularly memorable strategy: “My strategy was to have a memory of a goldfish because they have a 10-second memory.” McTavish also had little hesitation when asked to rate her MJT experience: “10/10, obviously!”

Eight-year-old Aleksander Sierzycki of Prince Albert, SK, made it four consecutive Mini Tour victories, edging the MJT Boys 8U field by a single stroke with a 94. Sierzycki kept his game plan appropriately simple, ‘having fun’, and nearly produced an eagle on the fourth when his approach struck the pin before settling for birdie. “I hit the pin for eagle and ended up with a birdie,” he said.
