Race to Nationals intensifies in the heat at MJT Mini Tour’s Sawmill stop

The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada’s dominant junior golf circuit, continued its record-breaking 2025 season with a MJT Mini Tour stop at Sawmill Golf Course in Fenwick, Ontario, on July 6. Nestled among deciduous forests and meandering creeks, Sawmill provided a scenic summer setting for a strong field of 12U competitors vying for titles in five divisions and the chance to qualify for the MJT Mini Tour National Championship at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course in British Columbia next month.

Braving sweltering heat and high humidity, the following young competitors rose to the challenge and claimed their respective division titles: Harrison Doucet, 11, of Scarborough, ON, in MJT Boys 11-12 (76), Brinley Lau, 11, of Toronto, ON, in MJT Girls 11-12 (85), Jerry King Zhao, 9, from Regina, SK, in MJT Boys 9-10 (87), Lanai Park, 9, from Oakville, ON, in MJT Girls 9-10 (78), and Logan Metzen, 8, of Etobicoke, ON, in MJT Boys 8U (79).

Quotes from the division winners, top finisher scores and the list of qualified players are detailed below. Full results are posted on the MJT website here.

The next MJT Mini Tour event in the province is at Victoria Park Valley Golf Club in Puslinch, taking place July 28. For more information on the MJT and upcoming events, visit www.maplejt.com.
