LeBlanc roars back with 66 in stacked MJT PLYR Series field at Kingswood

Canada’s most played competitive junior golf circuit, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), made its return to the picturesque Kingswood Resort in Fredericton, NB, for the 2025 MJT PLYR Series on August 2–3. Known for its scenic layout, elevation changes, and championship-calibre design, the course offered a true test for a combined field of 70 junior golfers competing across two MJT events.

The 19U athletes teed it up over two days in a MJT PLYR Series tournament, one of five in a series across Canada, with premium prizing from proud partner and vocal advocate for junior golf in Canada, PLYR Golf, up for grabs. Running concurrently on August 3, the MJT Mini Tour for 12U saw talented 12U players hit the links, further highlighting the depth of talent on display in Atlantic Canada. The below results are from the 19U event, where six division titles were up for grabs.

Strong gameplay over 36 holes led to Boys and Girls Low Overall Honours, respectively, going to Cedrick LeBlanc, 15, from Cocagne, NB, in MJT Juvenile Boys, who carded an exceptional 66 in round two (78-66=144) and Frédérique Doiron, 15, from Dieppe, NB, in MJT Girls 15-19 (72-77=149). Additional division titles were awarded to Chase Burgess, 18, of Petitcodiac, NB, in MJT Junior Boys (69-77=146), Brooke Shepard, 13, of Fredericton, NB, in MJT Girls U15 (145-147=292), Liam Wheaton, 14, from Memramcook, NB, in MJT Bantam Boys (76-73=149), and Borden Nicholson, 12, from Pictou, NS, in MJT Peewee Boys (72-72=144).
