New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI juniors take titles in historic MJT East Coast Championship

The traditional, tree-lined fairways of Mountain Woods Golf Course in Moncton, NB, were buzzing with action July 21–22, where junior golfers teed off in the 2025 East Coast Junior Championship. Now in its second year under the direction of Canada’s leading competitive junior tour, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), this historic event remains one of Atlantic Canada’s most prestigious junior tournaments, long supported by the Nova Scotia Golf Association (NSGA), Golf New Brunswick (Golf NB), and the Prince Edward Island Golf Association (PEIGA).

The championship unfolded smoothly, with top talent competing in six divisions. Players were not only battling for the impressive East Coast Junior Trophy, individual division titles, exceptional prizing, and on-course competitions, but also for coveted direct and shortlisted spots in three of MJT’s most sought-after qualifiers: the Sergio Garcia Junior Championship in Spain, the Jack Newton International Junior Classic in Australia, and the MJT National Tour Challenge in Ontario.

“It’s a real privilege for the MJT to continue hosting the East Coast Junior Championship, one of the most storied junior golf events in Atlantic Canada,” said Ryan Kingston, MJT Tournament Director in Atlantic Canada. “This tournament brings out some of the region’s best young players, and the level of talent we’re seeing continues to rise every year. It’s inspiring to watch these athletes bring their best to such a meaningful event.”

Topping the leaderboard as MJT East Coast Junior Champions were Theo Hustler, 18, of Miminegash, PE, in MJT Junior Boys (142), Kate Wyllie, 17, of Bible Hill, NS, in MJT Girls 15-19 (182), Ollie Larsen, 15, from Fredericton, NB, in MJT Juvenile Boys (147), Lila Bishop, 15, from Port Williams, NS, in MJT Girls U15 (154), Jack Grinto, 14, of Brookfield, NS, in MJT Bantam Boys (148), and Sullivan Campbell, 12, of Stratford, PE, in MJT Peewee Boys (149).
