Winners in 6 divisions gifted with Maui Jim eyewear and more at MJT’s Maui Jim Series in rain-soaked Chester
The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada’s number one-played junior golf tour, continued its record-breaking 2025 season with the highly anticipated launch of the Atlantic Canada circuit this past weekend at the stunning seaside Chester Golf Club in Chester, Nova Scotia. The tournament, the first of six events held across the country in partnership with Maui Jim, a longstanding and valued supporter of junior golf in Canada, marked the kickoff of the 2025 Maui Jim Series on the MJT.
Despite heavy rain in round one that forced a shortened nine-hole start, improved weather conditions allowed for a full 18-hole round on day two. Players were competing for titles in six division as well as for qualifying spots into three major events - the East Coast Junior Championship, MJT National Tour Challenge, and NextGen Atlantic Championship.
Low Overall Honours for boys and girls respectively was won by Tucker Doiron, 16, of Stewiacke, NS, in MJT Junior Boys (34-57=109) and Neve Miller, 17, of Dieppe, NB, in MJT Girls 15-19 (45-84=129). Other outstanding performances led to division wins for Ben Brown, 16, of Antigonish, NS, in MJT Juvenile Boys (35-75=110), Lila Bishop, 13, from Port Williams, NS, in MJT Girls U15 (43-80=123), Jack Grinton, 14, of Brookfield, NS, in MJT Bantam Boys (38-76=114), and Joshua Nickerson, 11, from Kentville, NS, in MJT Peewee Boys (42-77=119).
