Card’s sizzling 67-68-69 fires up leaderboard in MJT’s adidas Golf Series elite event at Grey Silo

A major three-day event on Canada’s most played and leading competitive junior circuit, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), played out at Grey Silo Golf Club in Waterloo, Ontario, on July 12–14, with fantastic results recorded from the waitlisted field of nearly 90 top junior golfers.

The MJT adidas Golf Series, a provisionally WAGR ranked, 54-hole Elite Series stop, saw athletes in six divisions benefitting from premium adidas Golf tee gifting and prizing, as well as the chance to earn valuable bonus Order of Merit points and coveted qualifying spots in the 2025 JNJG International Junior Classic in Australia and the MJT National Tour Challenge in Canada.

The heat and humidity did not deter the high-calibre junior golfers over the three days of intense competition. An outstanding performance by Alexis Card, 14, of Cambridge, ON, headlined the action, with her wire-to-wire 9-under-par victory in MJT Girls 15-19 after she fired rounds of 67-68-69 (204).

More stellar scoring lead to division titles being awarded to Kris Gopisetty, 17, of Mississauga, ON, in MJT Junior Boys (74-72-70=216), Brayden Card, 16, from Cambridge, ON, in MJT Juvenile Boys (73-74-70=217), Mirela Boras, 13, from Burlington, ON, in MJT Girls U15 (75-78-73=226), Landon Friesen, 14, of St. Catharines, ON, in MJT Bantam Boys (71-75-71=217), and Nicolas Pape, 11, of Bangkok, Thailand, in MJT Peewee Boys (73-77-73=223).

Top finisher scores, quotes from the division winners, and the list of qualified and short-listed players can be found below. Results from the Bomber Long Drive, PLYR Closest to the Pin, Booster Juice BounceBack Awards and Academy Points can be found here.

Up next in the province is the MJT Team Canada (Australia) Qualifier at Sawmill Golf Course in Fenwick, on July 19-20. For more information on the MJT and upcoming events, visit www.maplejt.com.
