MJT Bieber Classic in Carman caps record-breaking season for junior golf in Manitoba
The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) wrapped up a record-breaking season in Manitoba with the annual MJT Bieber Classic, an Elite Series event which was held at Carman Golf Club in Carman from August 12-14, 2025. This 54-hole, WAGR-ranked finale was one the province’s most competitive junior golf stages of the year and capped off a historic year in the province for Canada’s leading junior golf tour, with more members and tournament entries than ever, a great sign for the future of the game.
A full field aged 19U teed it up in six divisions, battling through two days to make the cut into the final round, where the remaining contenders vied for division titles, premium prizing including Titleist golf bags, and bonus MJT Order of Merit points toward qualification for the 27th annual MJT National Championship presented by adidas Golf at Orange Lake Resort in Florida this November.
After recording excellent divisional victories, Low Overall honours for the Boys and Girls categories respectively were won by Liam Comaskey, 18, of Oakbank, MB, the MJT Bieber Classic Junior Boys champion (70-78-77=225) and Angelina Sitarz, 13, of Winnipeg, MB, the MJT Bieber Classic Girls U15 champion (80-88-91=259).
The MJT Bieber Classic Juvenile Boys champion was decided in a thrilling playoff, won by Brandon’s Hunter Oakden, 14, after he and Oakbank’s Brady Comaskey, 16, both finished tied at 228 through 54 holes.
More sterling performances led to MJT Bieber Classic champion division titles going to Brooke Henderson, 17, from Portage La Prairie, MB, in MJT Girls 15-19 (283), Grant Secord, 13, from La Salle, MB, in MJT Bantam Boys (240), and Ty Montour, 12, from Oakville, MB, in MJT Peewee Boys (243).
