Richmond Country Club hosts top young talent in MJT’s Mini Tour Spring Invitational

One of the top private golf clubs in British Columbia graciously hosted the season-opener for Canada’s number one-played junior tour recently, when the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s MJT Mini Tour’s Order of Merit (OOM) Spring Invitational teed off at Richmond Country Club in Richmond on March 22. Some spectacular scoring was recorded out of the qualified field of players aged 12 and under.

Lee J.H. Lee, British Columbia Mini Tour Director, said, “It was very special in that the juniors had a chance to play on Richmond Country Club’s beautiful course, on dry, firm fairways and fast greens.  It was a perfect day to start our season and showcase the competitors hard work over the winter months.”

Winners qualified for both the FCG Callaway World Championship this July in Rancho Mirage, California, and for the MJT Mini Tour National Championship this August in Tsawwassen, BC.  In addition, the top two finishers in each division qualified for the MJT Mini Tour Order of Merit Invitational at Quilchena Golf and Country Club in Richmond on May 27.

Results and quotes from the top finishers are noted below. For Closest to the Pin and Long Drive Award winners, please visit the MJT website here.

The next MJT Mini Tour event is the MJT Mini Tour / IMG Junior Worlds Qualifier at Tsawwassen Springs in Tsawwassen, BC, on April 16.  To see the full 2023 British Columbia MJT Mini Tour schedule, please visit the website.
