Whispering Ridge stop marks the end of MJT Ontario Mini Tour season

Tournament Highlights:
- Canada’s leading Junior Golf Tour visited the Whispering Ridge-Lakeridge Links courses in Whitby, ON, this past weekend, where over 100 young athletes competed, either in the two-day 19U MJT Humber College PGM Classic at Lakeridge Links Golf Club, August 27-28, or the one-day 12U MJT Mini Tour at Whispering Ridge, August 27. Results of the one-day U12 event are highlighted below.
- The MJT Mini Tour stop, which followed the recent MJT Mini Tour National Championship this past week in British Columbia, closed out the 2022 Ontario season for the MJT U12 circuit in the province.
- In a full MJT Boys 11-12 division, Bryce Burridge, 11, of London, ON, fired a round of 70, and created a three-stroke lead over the second-place finisher for a final win of the season.
- The MJT Girls 11-12 division was won by Rosalynn Liu, 12, ON, who bested her next competitor by 14 strokes, winning her last tournament on the MJT Mini Tour circuit as she ages up to the Junior Tour next season.
- Weijian Lu, 9, of Markham, ON, battled it out for first in the MJT Boys 9-10 division, finishing with a score of 74 to win by six strokes. As the youngest in the division, Lu will be back next season to defend the division title as others age out.
- Finishing the tournament with a score of 106, Sofia Rocca, 10, of Sarnia, ON, came out to play a great game of golf in the MJT Girls 9-10 division.
- Deed Martino, 8, of Brantford, ON, shot 92 to win the MJT Boys 8U division title by a dominant 13 strokes.
- Cassandra Smith, 7, of Brampton, ON, shot 111 in the MJT Girls 8U division in a close battle for first, winning by four strokes.
- Winners of the MJT Closest-to-the-Pin awards are posted on the website.
- The Whispering Ridge event signalled the end of the 2022 Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour Mini Tour season in Ontario; a 2023 Early Bird Membership Offer will be available in December.

The MJT Mini Tour at Whispering Ridge signalled the end of the successful 2022 Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour season in Ontario; a 2023 Early Bird Membership Offer will be available in December on the MJT website at www.maplejt.com.
