Chu and Park win low overall MJT Mini Tour titles at Turnberry
Tournament Highlights:
- Canada’s number-one played Junior Golf Tour, the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), hosted the MJT Ontario Mini Tour Spring Series for 12U players at Turnberry Golf Club, in Brampton, ON, during a rainy June 6. This was the second stop this season in a seven-event series.
- Justin Chu, 12, of North York, ON, took both the MJT Boys 11-12 division and low overall boys title with a five stroke winning margin.
- Kaprice Park, 12, of Oakville, ON, claimed both the MJT Girls 11-12 title and low overall with a great round of 64.
- There was a tight race for first in the MJT Girls 9-10 division where Kaeleigh Chung, 10, of Richmond Hill, ON, ended up on top with a three stroke lead.
- Kingston MacPherson, 8, of Aurora, ON, won the MJT Boys 9-10 division by countback against Weijian Lu, 9, of Markham, ON, with a score of 64.
- Derek Zhao, 8, of Maple, ON, shot 73 to dominate the MJT Boys 8U division.
- The MJT Girls 8U division saw a tie for first place between seven-year-olds Charlotte Black of Paris, ON, and Cassandra Smith of Brampton, ON. Black took the trophy in a countback.

The highlight of my game was after the triple bogey on the first hole, I never gave up and came back. I think my short game helped me to win, my shots to the green weren’t the best, but my putting game really helped me out.”
