MJT Manitoba Mini Tour ends season on a high in Carman with largest 12U turnout to date

Tournament Highlights:
- The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) hosted the final 2022 Mini Tour stop in Manitoba for 12U players, the MJT Mini Tour at Carman Golf Club, in Carman on July 28. The MJT Mini Tour in Manitoba is hoping to build on the success of the Mini Tour in other provinces which has shown how competitive opportunities for 12U is helping grow the game.
- Lance Chaloner, 11, of Winnipeg, MB, battled it out in the MJT Boys 11-12 division for first, and won the title by two strokes.
- Grant Secord, 10, of La Salle, MB, won the MJT Boys 9-10 division title in style after firing a score of 76.
- In the MJT Boys 8U division, Ryan Small, 8, of Winnipeg, MB, jumped back on the podium once again with score of 80, winning three for three MJT Mini Tour stops in Manitoba this season.
- In the MJT Girls 9-10 division, Angelina Sitarz, 10, of Winnipeg, MB, edged out a one stroke victory after finishing with a round of 87.
- Each division winner, if not already qualified, received an exemption into the MJT Mini Tour National Championship in British Columbia on August 24-25, 2022.

On hole 17, I knew I had to save myself in order to keep my first place, and I drained the putt that I really needed. I just kept swinging the best I could and trying hard.”

This was the final stop on the 2022 MJT Manitoba Mini Tour. The MJT would like to congratulate all the 12U players who golfed on the Mini Tour this season, whether brand new to the tournament scene or veterans. To those who earned a spot in the MJT Mini Tour National Championship, we are looking forward to seeing you there in Tsawwassen, BC, August 24-25. An Early Bird Membership for 2023 will be available in December.
About the MJT: The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is Canada’s number one-played Junior Golf Tour as well as the only national junior tour run exclusively by PGA of Canada Professionals and the ‘Road to College Golf’ in Canada.
